The Hungry Hog @ SS15

Pork crackling, "keropork".

A lot happened at the end of 2011. I ran into some problems when trying to renew lilnut.net, and thank goodness that it was resolved without losing too much hair (mine). Its the second week of 2012 already, and we've fallen into eating in familiar places within our comfort zone, as well as cutting down dine outs, which explains the lack of activities here. No matter, there's still backlog to be cleared, such as this often visited Hungry Hog in  SS15. This is the place where we go when we worked late; we like to unwind and munch on pork cracklings while waiting for comforting, pork laden food.

Coffee Chemistry Signature

The first cup of coffee art that I've ever tasted comes from Coffee Chemistry @ Sunway Giza, Kota Damansara. It was a good discovery and I quite like this place. Better yet, they opened another branch and called it Coffee Chemistry Signature in First Subang, significantly nearer and more accessible. In fact, the branch is more spacious and comfortable too.

Restaurant SinKi @ Dengkil

Lunch in Cyberjaya, as usual is rather boring. Thank God for neighboring towns, we had the pleasure of venturing further sometimes. Dengkil, being in proximity with Cyberjaya is one of the popular Chinese food to-go place. It wasn't exactly near and certainly needs more time than having a simple lunch nearby, but occasionally it was a good experience to look forward to. Notably, one of the more famous Chinese seafood restaurant in Dengkil is no other than the much talked/blogged about SinKi.

Stirfried vermicelli with canned stewed pork.

The famous Chillies Fried Fish 辣椒鱼.

It was a rather awesome lunch. We'll be back.

Sakura Sakura Hakata @ SS12

We've got coupons to Sakura Sakura Hakata for their Irodori Gozen, so it was a good chance to walk into this Japanese restaurant that seems to be isolated from the bustling crowd outside these busy area opposite SDMC. The environment was comfortably dim lit, with liberal usage of pink as the interior decoration theme. Me likey.

The Irodori Gozen spread was impressive: The set consisted of sushis, unagi, assorted tempura,  pickled vegetables, salad, sashimi, fresh vegetable salad, miso soup in a teapot, chawan mushi and stewed meat with vegetables. The portion is sufficient for two small eaters.

Salmon sashimi on a bed of ice.

The assorted tempura.

Miso soup with straw mushrooms in teapot.

Stewed meat and vegetables.

Grilled eel, Unagi.

We also odered a Tenzaru Cha Soba Bento from the menu. Overall it was a satisfactory meal and worth a second visit. The restaurant is pork free.

Goku Raku Ramen @ Midvalley

Goku Raku Ramen. We've been triggered by a ramen craze, and as such, is out on a ramen tasting spree. Goku Raku Ramen, The Ramen Haven in Midvalley, is highly recommended for their pork based broth ramen.
