The Day Before 1st of April

March 31, 2008 by Sleeping Princess

Today is Monday.

That means getting up, albeit begrudgingly, prepare and get to the office. Once I reach, it is all about turning on the computer and, cleaning up the desk and… surfing the net.

Mostly, its like The Star and PPS. It is downright funny sometimes, how some news can be news at all, but its not so funny when it comes to things like politics and those that concerns the nation. Ever since the 12 GE all eyes are set on the political section of the newspaper, something that we have not seen for a very long time. I guess it couldn’t be helped when those news are better than soap opera, and come April, things will be more interesting with the addtion of Anwar Ibrahim into the main scene.

Its April’s Fool Day tomorrow. I have never, ever like to pull prank on anyone, and likewise, I appreciate anyone that I know not to do the same on me. Anyone caught fooling me will be pinched to half death and finished off with a good measure of smacks. I mean it. Yes I can’t take jokes. I am a serious person. You’ve been forewarned.

Automobile Warranty

March 28, 2008 by Sleeping Princess

Well, unfortunately, my friend banged into the rear of some car while trying to maneuver in the rain, so he was a bit jittery in negotiating with the owner about the damage of the car. I was there when the accident happened, and foretold that the damaged car owner will definitely ask for a lump sum of money, so I cautioned my friend not to pay more than a hundred bucks or so, because he could have lodged a police report and claim the Automobile Extende Warranty to fix bot of their cars. In the end it was settled with a sum of less than a hundred bucks, so everyone was happy.

Picking Up Maplestory, Again

by Sleeping Princess

I’ve been playing Maplestory on and off, so sometimes, I will be wacking mobs like crazy and neglecting everything else.

Its quite a fun game, really. Cute characters, albeit 2D, nice colours and all that. Of course, maybe sometimes it is quite irritating when you meet the wrong crowd in the game that will spew profanities at you because you ks them or you got conned 4 million mesos for a lousy work glove or you bump into cheaters using bots and things like that, but in general I am quite positive towards the game (I feel positive towards everything but myself, wtf)

The last time I played Maple was like, a month or two ago, having started 2 years back and still manage to stunt my character to forever being in level 50. So, yeah I digress. And then, and then, they introduce the floating village of Thailand and thus, updates are necessary.

The thing I hate about updates are, most of the time the updates failed to run and force me to download the torrent file and reinstall the whole damn game again.

Lewisburg Luxury Apartments

March 25, 2008 by Sleeping Princess

Recently, I am looking for a place to move again. Tired of land down house, I just feel like getting an apartment like these beautiful Lewisburg luxury apartments. It sure beats a rundown house with faulty sewage and cockroaches running over kitchen counter. Let’s just hope a high rise will do away with problems such as mosquitoes and heat, because I hate those as well. But alas! It is the budget problem that will always come first. I will find something that I can afford.

English is Dead (The Language)

March 24, 2008 by Sleeping Princess

When there are just so many spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in one single resume intended to impress your future boss so that he will hire you for the job, it speaks volumes about your proficiency in said language.

No, I don’t have a say on whether or not the company should hire the person who sent the resume. I am an intern anyway, so it is up to the boss’ discretion to hire her or otherwise. I just happened to glance through the resume and it gives me a heartfelt pondering on the level of English language of the fresh graduates today. If atrocious is not the word then I don’t know what it is.

I don’t know what’s wrong. Something as important as a resume should be taken seriously. Afterall, the resume is the first impression you give to your potential employer.

If you are not good at stringing proper sentences sans grammatical errors, you could at least get the spelling correct. Its not that hard. You don’t even need to win the Spelling Bee Contest. Microsoft Office underlines the wrong spelling in squiggly red lines, and so does Mozilla Firefox. All you need to do is look carefully, right click, and choose the correct spelling. I am sure someone with a degree majoring in IT knows this.

Ugh, but still, I am not my boss.
