MMU Lecturer Says the Darnest Things

January 24, 2008 by Sleeping Princess

An email exchange between the lecturer and I.

Moi: Sir, since I am working right now, I only have lunch time free, so can we schedule the meeting during lunch?
Lecturer: Sure, no problem. Let’s arrange a lunch time meeting.

A few days later.

Moi: Sir, on which day lunch time are you free?
Lecturer: Please come at tomorrow, 10 am.
Moi:

expoded

Either his lunch is at 10am or he just thoroughly disregard my question. Gah!

Fresh Air and Change of Theme

December 27, 2007 by Sleeping Princess

Hullo! How was your holiday? Mine was alright. Spent the whole holiday between worrying about late assignment submission and doing more assignment to meet the Saturday deadline. Oh yeah, changed my previous Christmas template with this smashing theme. I think its appropriate, since Christmas was like, days ago. Anyhow, I hope I can stick to this theme long enough. I like it a lot right now.

To be honest, right now there is nothing hip and hype about life to talk about, partly because the brain mechanism is all wired to accept lecture materials for the upcoming regurgitation (read: exam) of two subjects that I am not particularly good at. One thing to be contented though, the mid term marks was alright, so I won’t be sitting upright on bed at night, being awakened by the nightmare of failing the subjects because my carry marks are too low. That said, I have no idea how much the total carry marks are.

All I have to do now is to study smart and study fast. Mach 5 is not fast enough.

Pressure Cooker Semester

Relax. Have some chocolate chip cookies.

Well, actually I was supposed to blog about my trip to the South to visit JY and kinda tour the place for a bit, but right now I am just dead busy (and tired!) from rushing to finish my revision for the midterms of my subject. I really, really hate second semester because it is just too darn pressurizing to finish so many things in two months that I don’t even have the time to take a breather PROPERLY. Knowing that I actually love slacking and all that, this is hell to me.

Not that I have never experience it before, because five years here means five seasons of second semester but I still haven’t warm up myself with the pace yet. I just don’t like being rushed, I guess. I mean, I hate it. Two weeks into classes and there’s exams, labs, assignments and whatnots t finish already.

Exams are going to last until next week, so I will most likely be missing ’til then.

Yeah, do drop by sis’ new domain at Blublucat. That’s her birthday pressie.

Edit: This post is shown twice on the main page. Its either there is some bug or I am seeing double. I can’t do anything to it. AND I didn’t post it twice. ARGH. WTF.

Faculty Lab Backstab

November 30, 2007 by Sleeping Princess

Good blardy afternoon!!!

Supposed to have Fridays off this semester, but with so many labs conveniently scheduled on this particular day of the week, I have to drag myself up from the bed, shower and head right to campus from 9-12 today to attach ICs and LEDs to the breadboard and hope that the circuit works, so that I can leave early and maybe continue my sleep.

Which so happens that things doesn’t work to well and I am stuck til the last minutes with malfunctioning equipments, clueless lab partner (I am not so clueful myself, but I am cluerer!) and the lecturer. (The lecturer part wasn’t that bad at all! Will talk about it later.)

Well anyhow, I managed to ditch the whole thing because time’s up so I took lift from 2nd floor to the 3rd floor computer lab, and as of now, I am writing this entry from the lab, with a throbbing headache, no thanks to the low flicker rate of the (hold your breath!) 15” CRT monitor.

I know why I don’t hang out at the lab often. Its because…
The 15” CRT monitor with low flicker rate, no flat screen and the pin cushion effect is killing my eyes, OMG!

P3s. And they are noisier than a chugging train.

Internet Explorer. Even with tabbed browsing, it still sucks.

No speaker. I can live with that, but still….

Ughhh. Air con not strong enough.

Smells weird. Of mothballs and unwashed socks. In an air con room.

Must.wear.shoes. No slippers.

Everything’s slow to load. I don’t think its the line’s problem. Trust me its the processor.

I can put my leg on the chair.

Another 15 minutes and they are going to close for lunch!

I gotta go. K thanks bye.
