Was majoring in engineering a huge mistake?
I am a wee, tiny bit depressed.
First of all, I am happy to announce that I am totally pain free and eating very well albeit with a missing tooth. All is good and let’s just not discuss about the next dentist appointment. My personal matter is a speck of dust amidst all the big news this week.
The worst news of the week that makes me feel so revolting is none other than Josef Fritzl case.
Quoted from Wikipedia:
The Fritzl incest case came to light in late April 2008 when a 42-year-old Austrian woman, Elisabeth Fritzl, told police that she had been sexually abused, raped, and physically assaulted by her father, Josef Fritzl, since 1977 and had been imprisoned by him since 1984.
Austrian police say her father kept her for 24 years in a small soundproofed cellar with four beds and a bathroom. It extended beneath the family house in a village near the town of Amstetten in Lower Austria. In that cellar, she gave birth to a total of seven children (including twins, one of whom died) all of whom had been fathered by Josef.
I don’t have to tell you how sick all these sound. I hope he get what he deserved for making life a living hell for his daughter and all his incestuous children. Man, the blood relationship is so complicated that I don’t know if he is the offspring’s father or grandfather. Either ways, he does not deserve to be acknowledged as a paternal figure because it is a disgrace to all the father out there. This worst than animal monster, so geram to see that with his advanced age he will die before justice could be served properly. Nabeh. Somebody, just castrate him and feed it to the dog already!
And then, the pedophile alert. If you are stalked with a person who bears details as such:
Albert, who may use some other extension like the year 1951, and carries some hotmail account like albertxu2007may and suspiciously comes from the IP 219.95.3.179
Please be aware that this sick, twisted pervert is posting a lot of materials which are pedophiliac in nature on a public domain. The blog is no longer available now but beware of him, nonetheless.
Here is another reminder to each and every one of us that the internet is not a safe place at all, especially for young children. If you have young children, be sure to monitor their activities online because pedophiles are at large and very much active, preying on young and innocent children.
And then, another NS trainee passed away. The reason stated was food poisoning, but I believe that negligence plays the most important part as the cause of death. I wonder, how many fatalities would it take before the government scrap the National Service Program? I don’t see the benefit of the program other than wasting taxpayer’s money, and worst of all, the fatality rate is so alarming despite the year by year promises of improvement and all the nonsense. It has always been a mess, and will remain as a mess that needs to be clean off as soon as possible without sacrificing more innocent lives.
Last but not least, the interesting political scene that is unfolding in our own backyard. Of RPK’s detainment, bail, candlelight vigil and all sorts, of the very interesting parliamentary live cast, of the commotion in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, and last but not least, the revision of toll rates.
I wish they do something to the toll rates. That is the issue nearest to my heart of all the political issues that unfold this week. That, of course and the degradation of the species known as human.
After some thought on being blasé and all that, I realize that the world is divided into a lot of groups of people: the optimists, the pessimist, the extrovert, the introvert, the drama queen, the macho men, the hypochondriac, the Münchhausen, the blonde cheerleader, the jock, the nerd kid, the losers, the winners and everything else you think you want to name your next best friend.
Being a needle in a haystack, I have my own troubles, but compared to others mine is insignificant, and I shouldn’t fuss over them like its the end of the world. While my problems are mine alone, I should be thankful that things change, time will never standstill, and soon enough, things will be alright again.
I don’t really know how to start, because whatever I’ve been formulating in my mind for this posts seems to sound bad than good. So, what the heck, let’s just get over with it already.
I’ve got two phone calls today. Both of which I answered, somewhat how, given the lack of preparation and everything, I actually managed to answer. You see, I don’t always get phone calls from my grandparents. On occasions where I actually does, those were usually reminders of we should come over lest dinner will be served late. That kinda phone calls.
Today, well, today is just so totally different. For one, if they are calling up for a chat they might as well call up my sister, who is nearer (she is in the hometown and can drop by to see them) and chattier (she can talk the whole journey from KL-Ipoh) than me a whole lot, and another, they are genuinely concerned about my academic status. Which they don’t, until now. I feel weird, but not in the bad way. It just struck me as odd, that’s all.
And well, for the record, one call is from my grandfather and the other is from my grandmother. Both were asking the same things. Both were in the vicinity of each other when the calls were made. I could hear their voices in the background.
Beyond the talks about graduation, future possible jobs, convocation, I can’t help but wonder why. I can understand about people asking me when am I going to graduate already, but the rest just doesn’t make sense.
Still, I appreciate for their concern. Its just that it so rarely happens that I am surprised. And well, I can’t deny the fact that I am worried, in one way or the other, for what reason, I am not sure.
Sigh. Maybe I should visit them come next holiday. I am more relieved when I do not get any news about them, because, well, no news is good news, afterall.

I am so sleepy right now that I could fall asleep on the cold, hard concrete right now, no joke.
Let me tell you something that I suspect you already know but I will tell anyway.
When you have nothing to do you will choose to stay up late and play games, surf the net, read books and etc, up until in the wee hours of the morning, instead of sleeping on the comfy bed.
Now that there is something serious to finish, you can’t help but keep longing to sleep. It doesn’t matter that you have to study in the same room when your bed is. You will sleep on the cold hard floor, if only you can catch some forty winks.
Tsk.
